Is custom photography worth the investment?
I’m proud to provide an experience that my clients have told me is worth every penny! Custom photography is an investment, to be sure.  One that most families must plan for.  But as anyone who has had a memorable custom photoshoot can tell you, the resulting images will be cherished forever.  I have had clients tell me that their photos changed the way they thought about themselves.  This is why I chose to become a professional photographer.

How would you describe your style?
I seek out genuine moments that make me FEEL something.
Most photos are lightly posed, meaning I’ll help get you into place first and then encourage interaction and real expressions while I’m snapping away.
If you want to sum it up in a couple of words, my work is most often categorized as lifestyle photography.

How long will it take to receive our images?
You will receive a “Sneak Peek” in 24-48 hours! For the rest, you will need to anxiously await for the finished images to be uploaded for another 2 weeks. WORTH THE WAIT!

Help!!! I’m not photogenic at all!!!
Believe it or not, pretty much EVERYONE tells me this before their session, and it never turns out to be true! I love coaching my clients through having their photos taken, and I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to make you look fabulous! When you’re having a great time, you’ll look more beautiful than you thought was possible. I promise!

What should I wear?
I’ve put together a complete session preparation guide for my clients. Click here to get your free download! It includes information about clothes, hair/makeup, and other useful tips to help eliminate stress from your experience.

What if my kids don’t cooperate?
I love getting to know my clients’ kids, even the ones who are shy/stubborn/you name it! I always approach the session as a new friend who’s just thereto play and have a good time. I have all the patience in the world, and I find that being easy-going translates to happy kiddos. That being said, not every moment of the session is perfect, and that’s totally OK — in fact, it’s encouraged! In 10 years, I’m willing to bet that you’ll cherish the image of your toddler crying fake tears just as much as the one that we took 10 seconds later of him happily running toward the camera. My goal is to capture the personalities of the kids in front of my lens, including all of the beautiful quirks, details, and small moments that make up childhood.

Do you photograph pets? Affectionately known as "Fur Babies" or "Fur Family"
YES!!  Pets are an important part of your life too! AND if you are like me, they are considered FAMILY!  So please bring them along!

Can I bring along a friend or family member?
Sure! I love it when my clients bring along a “laugh buddy,” and it’s always fun to grab an extra photo of the two of you together! I don’t recommend bringing your hair stylist or creative director with you, but I welcome any communication before the session so that I can keep special requests in mind as we’re shooting.

Do you retouch my images?
All images are edited by me and have basic retouching included. Basic retouching is included for images that need changes such as color correction. These are edited to my discretion and not extensive. I keep my subjects as natural as possible for the most accurate and true look and feel from when the photo was captured to maintain quality. Extensive retouching is not included which are things such as (but not limited too): liquefying body size/shape, smoothing skin, removal of other people or items in the image, and swapping faces, eyes, etc.

Will I provide RAW files to clients upon request?

I do not provide any RAW files to clients for any reason.
Professional photographers spend an exhaustive amounts of time and money developing expertise that directly benefits YOU. There is a lot of work that goes into the post-production of images after a photo session. When we have completed our session, my work isn't over. The art process isn't finished. I spend a large amount of time going through the images, selecting the very best to make sure I am giving only the highest of quality images to each client. Then I edit/retouch the images. Imagine a potterer giving away a RAW unfired pot that hasn't been glazed and water just seems through when used, or a baker delivering a cake that hasn't been frosted and decorated. Delivering images unfinished isn't why you are hiring me.  Photography is an art form and I want all my images that my clients share, use, print etc. to show off my work.

Who owns the rights to the images?
As the artist, I own the copyright of all images created. As my client I give you printing rights to your images purchased in your collection. This allows you to print the images professionally with a professional printer of your choice. Although, as your photographer I work with a professional print lab directly.
As the copyright owner I use the images for my portfolio, samples, promotional, marketing, photographic contests, art exhibitions, display, and in some cases editorial publication. I understand some people prefer to not be published or used for marketing and online. If so, please let me know and I will make the necessary changes before you sign your contract.

Can I keep the images from my session private?
All clients sign an optional model release before the session. If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time. For clients who choose to decline the model release, I absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.

Where should I print my images?
I recommend an excellent online-based consumer lab that offers professional-quality prints. After you upload your digital files, they mail the prints straight to your home. When you receive your session flash drive, you’ll find a PDF file with more detailed printing advice. I’ve had test prints made with nearly every consumer lab, so please ask if you have questions about the quality from a specific place.
I do not recommend printing your images at Target, Walmart, CVS, or Costco. These labs are not designed to handle printing professional photography.

What is your cancellation policy?

Portraits:
If you cancel 30 or more calendar days before the session date, any deposit paid to the Photographer shall be refunded in full.
If Client cancels within the 30 days of the session date and if Photographer does not obtain another assignment for that time, deposit shall be retained as liquidated damages. But it is never my intention to pressure someone into going through with a session. All I ask is that we respect each other’s time. Just let me know as soon as you find out so that another client may book since that time was being reserved for you.

Ok, We are ready to book! What Next?
I can’t wait to work with you! Please send me a message here, and we’ll come up with a game plan for your session. After that, you’ll be able to sign your contract and submit your session deposit online. 50% is due upon booking to reserve your date, and the remainder is due on the day of your session.
I also ask new clients to fill out a short questionnaire, which helps me get to know you and your hopes/goals for the session.
